Jenny + Jack + The Pretty Pink Dress

Here is a little something from what I'm working on now.  As I've been editing this film, I was reminded of how much I liked Jenny's wedding gown, so I featured Jenny's dress on our Facebook page yesterday as my favorite of 2012. I love when a bride selects a dress that's outside the norm; something with a touch of color, unique appliques, or a custom made gown.  The pop of color from the pink floral organza and the floral printed inset panel were beautiful and something that I heard many guests comment about at the wedding.

Today I wanted to add a little something to the blog so everyone can see that pretty dress in action!  For those of you wondering about where you can get this dress, it's from David's Bridal and is part of an exclusive collection.

Jenny and Jack's wedding day took place on a sometimes overcast and sometimes sunny day in July at Most Precious Blood Church in Walden and Magnanini Winery in Wallkill.  We had the pleasure of working alongside one of our favorite photographers, the very talented Cheryl Bolton-Reuter, to get all the beautiful shots in the fields and the vineyard.  Be sure to check out her photos from this wedding as well.

Here is a highlight clip from Jenny + Jack's wedding film.

If you watched this video, please leave us a comment here on the blog and/or on our Facebook page under our update for Jenny + Jack's Highlights.  If you like our work, we would love for you to like our page while you're there too!

Michele + Leland: A Beautiful Fall Wedding at St. James Church and the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel

Michele and Leland were married at St. James Church, a gorgeous old stone church in the city of Kingston.  Though the day started off with a bit of rain, by the end of their vows, the sun came out and the clouds parted to reveal a beautiful blue sky.

Their ceremony was so personal and sweet.  I absolutely love it when couples recite their own vows!  It really makes a ceremony your own.  There were few dry eyes in the church during their vows and those that were had to have been fighting it back with all their might.  Their words to each other were so precious and genuine!  They're so sweet together!  You can see the love in their eyes every time they look at each other!

After the ceremony, we were excited to head off to the City of Poughkeepsie for some urban wedding photos with one of our favorite photographers, Cheryl Bolton-Reuter.  I love filming a bride and groom all dressed up and gorgeous with the historic buildings, traffic, lights and the urban backdrop of the city.  There are so many options for creative and fun shots and a ton of different textures and locations to play with.  Just wish we had a bit more time.  Maybe I can convince Michele and Lee to get all dressed up again for some more fun!  Here are some stills from the film of their photo session.

Just as we were finishing up the photo session, the storm clouds began to roll back in.  I love it when the sky changes like that!  We end up with the best footage because you get billowy clouds, brilliant blue skies and gray dramatic stormy clouds all in one shoot.  It makes for some great footage!

For more from Michele and Lee's wedding, you can check out some photos on the Facebook album from Bolton-Reuter Photography.

Their reception was held in the Regency Ballroom at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.  It was all decked out for the Fall Themed Black and White Wedding and had many personal details.  One of my favorites was the display for the escort cards.  They were placed on lanterns (their favors) which were hung on large tree branches in tall vases filled with amber marbles.  I heard several of their guests comment on how unique and eye catching this idea was.

Another favorite were the centerpieces, which were designed by Michele and created by Lucille's Florist.  They were fall colored floral centerpieces with a beautiful iron candle lantern coming up out of the center.  Such a unique detail!  They set the mood and gave the room a lovely amber glow.

Michele and Lee had a signature martini they called a "Leechele" which consisted of Stoli Vanilla and Creme de cocoa garnished with black licorice.  Perfect for the fall theme!  To serve their signature drink, they set up a martini bar.  Another hit with their guests!

Rock n' Roll!  That basically sums up Michele and Lee's rockin' reception!  Dr. Mudd, a band that is very special to the couple, provided the entertainment for the evening and kept the guests on the floor all night long.  Everyone sang along with the band as they danced and Michele and Lee each took a turn at the mic.  Lots of memorable moments and a lot of fun had by all.  It was quite a party!

One last set of details that can't go unmentioned, Michele's dress and shoes (links below).  LOVED THEM and they were the perfect choice for her!! Her dress was by Essence of Australia and her shoes, Paris Hilton.  Check out the details on both of these lovelies.

Here is a highlight clip from their wedding film to show you all the fun!

Allison + John: Wedding Day Highlights from Mohonk Mountain House

Our latest wedding day highlights clip is from Allison and John's super fun wedding at the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House.  I love the story of how they met in an arcade!  It's both sweet and comical and it was important to me to make sure that their story was prominent in this clip. Hope you enjoy!

Erin and Mike: Highlights

Erin and Mike were married at Round Hill House in Washingtonville, NY.  It was a beautiful day for their outdoor ceremony in the garden which was personal, romantic and sentimental.  Lots of little touches within the ceremony and throughout the wedding really helped to tell the story of how Erin and Mike met, fell in love and came to be married.  From the personal words they said to each other during their ceremony to the toasts given at the reception by their friends and family, if you didn't know their whole story before the wedding, you got to hear all the wonderful, fun and sweet details that day.
A fantastic party for their guests followed powered by the outstanding food from F.E.A.S.T. as well as the tunes being cranked out by BJ Bri Swatek of Spinning with Style.  A great time was had by all who attended, but especially those who made their way to the dance floor and never left it!
We absolutely love when there are so many personal details, touching and funny toasts and interesting ways to include guests.  When Erin shared her dance with her Dad, other fathers and daughters were asked to join them half way through and there were lots of them.  The same thing happened when Mike danced with his mom.  We were surprised to see how many people got up there.  There was an adorable poem written and recited by Mike's grandmother and a sweet reading by Erin's Aunt Eileen.  A heartfelt toast was given by Erin's Dad as well as a set of combination toasts (humorous and serious) by the Best Man, Mike's brother, and the Maids of Honor along with their "beats" crew (you have to see it to really appreciate it).  There will most likely be another post or two from this beautiful wedding so you can see the details I'm writing about.
We walked away from this wedding knowing that Erin and Mike are a fun and caring couple who are admired and loved dearly by all their family and friends.  What a great way to celebrate the start of your life together as husband and wife.  Congratulations again to Erin and Mike for putting together such a beautiful and memorable wedding!

From High School to Happily Ever After

This is a clip from a video that I am currently working on. Kristin and Hunter met in high school when she was a freshman and he was a junior. Seven years later, they become engaged and then marry. This wedding was so beautiful, full of energy, love, happiness, fun and surprises that you just can't fit it all into one clip, but hopefully you will see a glimpse of it as you watch.

Mohonk Memories

When Beth and Rob asked us to be the videographers for their wedding at Mohonk Mountain House, we couldn't wait for their wedding day to arrive. Mohonk is one of our favorite locations for a wedding or just to hike and relax by the water. It is such a beautiful site with so many amazing locations for pictures (especially if you are willing to hike up a mountain in a gown and heels like so many of our brides are, surprisingly). Since we love Monhonk so much, it seems that everytime I edit a clip from there, I fall in love with it and need to post it.

Thank you to Beth and Rob for giving us another opportunity to go to a place that we love to do what we love and for being so cute and sweet that you make the location shine more brightly! We hope that you enjoy this highlights clip!

Gilded Age Highlights

I decided to include a highlights clip of Peri & Joseph's wedding as well. It wouldn't be right to show them talking about it and not share how their day turned out. In the clip you will see the dress that Peri designed and had made to look like Alice Roosevelt Longworth's dress as well as clips from their ceremony, choreographed first dance and the song that Peri sang (and wrote) for Joe. What a very personalized and unique wedding it was. Enjoy!
